Theoretical Solutions Architect
Design and articulate defense solutions that exist primarily in PowerPoint and whitepapers. This role is perfect for candidates who excel at creating compelling narratives around products that may never ship, could violate the laws of physics, or require technology that won't exist for decades. No implementation experience required—in fact, it might be a liability.
Responsibilities
•
Develop conceptual architectures for VAPORWARE and QECOMM platforms
•
Create technical documentation for products in the "eternal prototype" phase
•
Brief senior leadership on capabilities that transcend current physical limitations
•
Maintain roadmaps that perpetually show delivery 18-24 months in the future
•
Convert customer skepticism into additional research funding
•
Collaborate with physics departments on workarounds for fundamental laws of nature
Qualifications
•
Advanced degree in Physics, Engineering, or Science Fiction
•
3+ years in defense R&D or proposal writing
•
Exceptional ability to describe non-existent systems with confidence
•
Experience managing stakeholder expectations around "theoretical maturity"
•
Comfortable presenting at conferences about products that don't exist
•
Proven track record of securing funding for concepts in perpetual development
