Heritage Systems Maintainer
Maintain and operate PIGEON Low-Observable Avian Messenger systems for secure communications in denied environments. This role combines traditional carrier pigeon management with modern stealth coating application. Ideal for candidates who appreciate proven technology from simpler times and don't mind explaining to cyber warfare officers why their solution is a bird.
Responsibilities
•
Maintain flight readiness of PIGEON messenger assets
•
Apply and monitor radar-absorbent coatings on avian platforms
•
Conduct message encryption and physical payload attachment
•
Navigate regulatory frameworks for military avian operations
•
Coordinate with modern communications systems (when they fail)
•
Document reliability metrics spanning 5,000 years of proven performance
Qualifications
•
High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's degree in Animal Science preferred
•
2+ years working with carrier pigeons or similar avian systems
•
Understanding of both traditional communications security and ornithology
•
Ability to brief digital-native leadership on analog solutions
•
Comfortable explaining why your system has no firmware to update
•
Experience with low-tech solutions in high-tech environments
