Corporate Synergy Community Days
Quarterly team-building events that bring together executives, lobbyists, and government officials in informal settings conducive to relationship building.
Executive Summary
Corporate Synergy Community Days represent Cost Plus Technologies' commitment to fostering meaningful relationships between the defense industrial base and the government officials who fund it. These quarterly gatherings create informal environments where contracts are discussed, requirements are clarified, and sole-source justifications are workshopped—all while enjoying premium catering and spectacular golf course views. At Cost Plus Technologies, we believe that the best business relationships are built outside conference rooms and away from procurement regulations. Our Synergy Days events create opportunities for decision-makers to connect as individuals first, potential business partners second, and government contractors/officials in strictly appropriate ethical boundaries always.
The Challenge
Regulatory Distance
Federal procurement regulations create artificial barriers between industry experts and the government officials who need their guidance.
Requirements Misalignment
Government program managers often draft requirements without adequate industry input, leading to specifications that don't favor our capabilities.
Relationship Gaps
The formal acquisition process prevents the personal connections that facilitate trust and sole-source justifications.
Ethics Anxiety
Overly cautious interpretations of gift rules prevent legitimate educational and networking opportunities.

Our Response
Each Synergy Day follows a carefully designed format: morning golf tournaments (7 AM at exclusive private country clubs) mixing CPT executives with government program managers and congressional staffers, afternoon capability briefings over executive lunch, and evening relationship-building dinners featuring recently-retired DoD leadership. All events are meticulously documented as "Industry Education Events" and comply with gift restrictions through careful accounting. We provide pre-event ethics briefings, detailed gift value calculations, official educational content justifications, and post-event ethics filings for all government participants. Legal review of all discussions is conducted separately for attorney-client privilege protection.
Beneficiary Testimonials
“The relationships I built at Corporate Synergy Days helped me understand industry perspectives I'd never considered from inside the Pentagon. After retiring, Cost Plus Technologies offered me a senior advisory role where I can continue contributing to national security.”
— Former Program Executive Officer, Now CPT Senior VP for Government Relations
“These events provided critical education on emerging capabilities at a time when my office was drafting requirements for next-generation systems. The fact that CPT's proposals perfectly matched our needs was a testament to their industry knowledge.”
— Congressional Staffer, Armed Services Committee
“I appreciate CPT's commitment to relationship building. When you know the people behind the proposals, it's easier to trust that they understand your requirements. Plus, I really improved my golf game.”
— Acquisition Program Manager, Major Defense Agency
Success Story
Q3 Pentagon Leadership Golf Classic
Our Q3 event brought together 44 participants including 15 active duty officers (O-6 and above), 12 SES civilians, and 17 industry executives for 18 holes followed by capability briefings and dinner. The relaxed golf atmosphere facilitated candid discussions of upcoming requirements, budget priorities, and acquisition strategies. Within 90 days of the event, attendees' offices released 11 RFPs, six of which contained sole-source justifications or evaluation criteria heavily favoring Cost Plus Technologies. Additionally, eight officers who participated in the event initiated career transition discussions, with three ultimately joining CPT within 18 months of retirement. The event's documented "educational value" centered on emerging technology trends, but its real value lay in the relationships formed and requirements influenced. This exemplifies our belief that government and industry work best when they truly understand each other—preferably over 18 holes followed by a nice dinner.

•
Creating executive retreat opportunities for deeper relationship building
Corporate Values in Action
Corporate Synergy Community Days aren't just networking events; they're investments in the relationships that make defense acquisition possible. Because nothing builds trust like discussing sole-source justifications on the back nine, followed by capability briefings that happen to align perfectly with upcoming procurement needs.
